Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

• Be a lawyer, journalist, doctor, teacher, social worker, community organizer, or human rights advocate working with an NGO on issues such as gender-based violence, minority rights, LGBTQ+ rights, labor rights, migration, public health, environmental justice, or social inclusion.
• Have proven experience in human rights advocacy, a strong commitment to the field, and the ability to undertake graduate-level academic work.
• Be actively engaged in human rights work. Full-time students and government officials are not eligible, while applicants employed in advocacy-related roles are preferred.
• Work directly with grassroots communities and demonstrate fluency in English.
• Preference is given to applicants with limited international study or travel experience.
• Obtain official endorsement from their organization and commit to returning after completing the fellowship.
• Be the only applicant nominated from their organization.
